Latest of My Work

This week I did 8 shoots. I've actually never done so many in one week. I hope that will become my regular schedule as I get better at my craft.
This week I photographed a new up and coming model named Austin. He is 17, very new at modeling but was really a fantastic model.
I loved his look and he was very gregarious! We went to a location I've used before but enjoy going back to because of the many options it has in one area. Plus, in the evenings I always get amazing natural back lighting for the models.
It was me, the model Austin and my lovely assistant Ryan LOL. We had a reflector and that's all we used for lighting. I love natural light and always will.
Here are my favorites from my shoot with Austin. Enjoy!

Austin is part Native American and we
pulled on that for this shot.

Adam Kaiser Shoot

About a year and half ago I photographed a great guy named Adam Kaiser. I had been seeking our models that had fantastic looks to do test shoots with for my own portfolio, and he certainly fit the bill!

We did our shoot and had fun doing it. He has a great personality and was good to work with. I'm happy to say I count him as a good friend.

Then a few months ago we shot again. This time going for a much different look. I was using the old classic movie North by Northwest as my inspiration! I loved the sleek suit Cary Grant wore the entire movie.

Adam did a fantastic job yet again and pulled off the clean cut look I was going for perfectly.

Then last weekend we shot for the third time. This time I knew I wanted to do a look closer to how he dresses normally and to make it much more Urban looking. Although I really was happy with the first two shoots this last one definitely has been the most successful.
Whether it's the fact that we know each other better now (comfort level with the photographer always helps a model do better) or if it's that I've been able to get better over time, I'm much happier with this last shoot. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Rochelle Jahdi

Fashion Photo Shoot with Taylor Ann

About a year ago I met a young new model named Taylor Ann with McCarty Talent agency. She has a striking beauty about her and it was a pleasure to do another shoot with her a few weeks ago.

Also, I've been teaming up with a Stylist/Make-up Artist (I usually do it all by myself but I figure hey two heads are better than one!)named Heather Deus. The story of how I met this amazingly talented lady is hilarious!!! To sum up: Basically she married a guy I almost married but obviously didn't. hahahaha. What a thing to have in common!

So here are some of the behind the scenes of getting Taylor ready...
There's so much that goes into a great Fashion shoot before I can even pick up my camera. Sometimes it takes longer to get the model ready than to shoot them.

 Model:Taylor Ann
Beautiful even without any make-up.

Stylist:Heather Deus
Doing a fantastic job!
My vision for the shoot was
a take on retro. I found clothes
for the first look at the local
thrift store and it turned out lovely!
I LOVED the way Heather styled
her hair. Amazing.

 Taken in my Living Room.

Love how this one turned out.I was drawn
to the Clothes because of their graphic bold patterns
and the odd way they went together that ended up
being charming.

We decided to a much softer style for the second look
These clothes are from a fantastic store I
work with called Whimsy.

Another fun look with clothes borrowed from Whimsy.

Next we decided to go with a much more edgy look.
Taylor was able to switch gears and turn
on her Rock and Roll side. Heather adjusted
her hair accordingly. I had chosen this
Corset for just such a photo.

I had found this Vintage camera and just
had to use it as a prop.

I decided to take it outside and use natural
light which is always my favorite. Heather vamped
up Taylor's make-up and Taylor was a fantastic model.

This shot is my favorite! All in all it was
a really successful shoot.

Thank you to Heather and Taylor.
